First of many, many meadow close-up photos

My most recent For the Birds column explains a local adventure I undertook last summer photographing in macro mode the many meadows of the Darien Land Trust. From now until the end of August I will post daily one of the photographs from that close-up adventure.

Here’s the column with further explanation: A (very) close-up view of our meadows

And here’s the first of many photos:

  1. Hi Chris, I read your column that appears in The Hour every Thursday. I enjoy your insights. I have been checking your website daily for the “meadow” pictures that capture a mico-view of nature and the “unseen” inhabitants that are part of our natural world, if only we took the time to look closely, as you have done, and continue to do. Thank you for reminding everyone to take time to recognize how every “little” thing is part of the big picture, and there is a role for every creature, no matter how small or subtle.
Your pictures are inspiring and very well done!
