In southern New England it’s about 11 degrees now. Hey, at least the sun is out.
I just did a little duck watching in Norwalk
Harbor and saw Bufflehead, Goldeneye, Hooded Mergansers, and Red-breasted Mergansers. I was only out there for a few minutes. Work beckoned and, plain and simple, it was freezing cold. I guess my point is, today is the start of the Great Backyard Bird Count.
All it takes is 15 minutes anytime between now and Monday to look for birds. Take longer if you wish. Do it once or each day of the four-day count. Then submit your results. There. You’ve just contributed to a massive bird data base that will help scientists track bird populations.
