For no reason other than I like this shot and wanted to share it … here’s a happy little birdhouse photo for you. To make it even more happy, a Black-capped Chickadee family has used this house for the last two years.
I live in PA near the NJ boarder and just experienced a Mockingbird singing at 11:45 pm. At first I couldn’t believe I was hearing a bird at night, then realized it was the resident Mockingbird, we’ll hidden in “his” tree, during the day he sits on top of it, but singing away all the same. I also turned to the Google machine for an answer and found either territory protection, or unmated males. Guess we’ll just have to wonder.
