New logo for Birds of New England.com

With a forthcoming (soon, I hope) Birds of New England podcast and other exciting new developments in store with this site, I figured it was time to update my logo. Well, actually it was time to make a logo since I didn’t actually have one before.

I experimented with a bunch of designs and concepts and came to the conclusion that simple is better. So I took the photo of a young Peregrine Falcon I captured last winter and put the website’s name across the bottom. Simple as that. I like the photo, but it’s also simple with the bird and the sky and that’s it. There are no distractions such as branches or leaves or anything in the background. It made for a good logo photo, I thought.

The Peregrine Falcon is also appropriate since it is making a strong comeback throughout New England.

What do you think? Love it, hate it? Have suggestions?
