A Brown Creeper climbs up the underside of a branch on a tree in Norwalk, Dec. 2014.
Here’s my latest For the Birds column that appeared in The Hour and Keene Sentinel. A few months ago I wrote about the advantages of parking in a spot far away from my work’s building, so I could walk along the river to see what birds were around. Well, the practice paid off again.
Perhaps if you put the brown creeper on your masthead for a month, Nature”s God of Birds will abate her wrath and give you a better photo op! 🙂

Good idea, Brian. I’ll make it my screen saver, too.

Good cheerful story — just what we can use in mid-January.
Do you think the Brown Creeper you missed made a fast getaway because it was aware of the hawk? Susan Gutterman

Hi Susan. Good point. The hawk likely wouldn’t have chased a bird that small, but the creeper may not have known that! Thanks for writing Susan.
