Never at any of my former homes where I’ve maintained birdfeeders had I seen a warbler at the feeder. A few weeks at Merganser Lake and today alone I had three.
They were all Pine Warblers (the most likely warbler to be seen at a feeder) and all three toggled back and forth between the suet feeder and hopper feeder offering sunflower seeds. They seemed to favor the suet, however.
At one point all three were on the suet feeder at the same time, but they quickly chased each other away, leaving no one at the feeder.
It’s a thrill to see a warbler in the fall regardless, but at your feeder … so cool.

I love Pine Warblers. I have been lucky to have them off and on at my suet feeder. I have even had them there in the winter.

I just got back from a super two-week visit to my family in the Keene vicinity. What a Columbus Day Weekend they had up there! My best wildlife sighting up was being face to face with an opossum at night, feasting on grapes on the vine right outside my window.
I enjoyed reading your column about hawks in the Keene Sentinel.
Yesterday near the Reservoir in Central Park a birdwatcher pointed out a Ruby Crowned Kinglet to me. On WNYC this am they commented on how good the bird-watching is in the city parks right now. Susan
